Jill Hennessy
This resident of Edmonton, Alberta has a mixed ancestry of Irish, Italian, Swedish, French and Ukranian. Her twin sister, Jacqueline, is an actress and actress as well. While growing up, Jill became fluent in several languages, including Italian, French and Spanish. She became interested in acting around the age of twelve. She started her acting career in Toronto with David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers playing an escort together with his twin sister. Then she studied improv comedy at Second City under Deb Kimmet. Following her move into New York, Claire signed a two-year deal in Law & Order to be the Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid. In the time the actress was in New york working on feature films including RoboCop 3 (1993), Ron Howard's The Paper (1996) and I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). In the following years, she had a chance to appear in some forgettable films, but in 1999 she was offered a leading role in the miniseries uremberg opposite Alec Baldwin. Autumn in New York followed, as did Exit Wounds. The actress was cast as the lead for her role on the NBC crime comedy Crossing Jordan in 2001. In 2007, she was honored with the Gracie Allen Award for "Outstanding female character in a drama" in appreciation of her role on the show. In 2000 she married her co-star Paolo Mastropietro. They have two children. In 2007, she was awarded the honor of being in Canada's Walk of Fame.
