Lizzo was a part of a prog-rock group in which she sang and occasionally played her flute. Her family moved to Denver which left Lizzo with her own needs to begin her professional career in Houston. Lizzo was a single woman in her car, often lying on the floor in her studio recording studio, and washed in the gym. When Lizzo was just 20, her father died. It was a devastating loss for both of them, because they were extremely close. Following the death of her father, she quit the prog band. After a brief stint in Denver, Lizzo moved to Minneapolis in 2011 at the invitation of a close friend. She was soon ensconced in the music scene of Minneapolis. She was a member of the girl group Chalice, GRRRL PRTY. Her debut album, Lizzobangers, was released in 2013 on an independent label.
